Supreme Congress of the F.R.B

The Constitution establishes that in our country the Supreme Power of the Republic is divided, for its exercise, into Legislative, Executive and Judicial. The Legislative Power is deposited in a General Congress, which in turn is divided into two Chambers, one of Deputies and the other of Senators.

Benweenian Senate

The Benweenian Senate is made up of 485 senators, who are chosen from among the formulas of candidates registered by each state and in the City of Benween . From each State, 20 senators are elected, and by the City of Benween, 25 are elected.

The Legislative Power of the Federal Republic of Benween is deposited in a General Congress that is divided into two Chambers, one of Deputies and the other of Senators. The Congress of the Federal Republic of Benween is conceived as the organ of democratic plurality par excellence, since the main political and ideological currents of our country converge in it.

Both Chambers have as their fundamental purpose the analysis, discussion and approval of the norms that constitute our legal system.

The federal legislative process is governed by the Political Constitution of the Federal Republic of Benween, the Rules for the Internal Government of the General Congress and by the parliamentary agreements adopted by the majority of the members of each House. The Magna Carta specifies that the right to initiate laws and decrees belongs: a) to the President of the Republic; b) to the deputies and senators to the Congress and c) to the citizens, in the terms that the laws indicate.

The formation of laws and decrees can be started indistinctly in either of the two Chambers, observing the Rules of Debates on the form, intervals and way of proceeding in discussions and voting, with the exception of projects that deal with loans, contributions or taxes, or about recruitment of troops, which should be discussed first in the Chamber of Deputies.

Chamber of Deputies

The Chamber of Deputies of the Congress of the Republic is the lower chamber of the Legislative Branch of Benween, integrating together with the Senate of the Republic , a bicameral assembly in which this power is deposited. It is made up of representatives of the Republic, who are 245 deputies elected in their entirety for a period of five years, which begins on October 1 of the year of the election. Its headquarters is the Benweenkaztel in the Benween City.

The total of its members are elected by States, so for each State 10 deputies are elected, and for the City of Benween 15 are elected.
